The Story

Kinson Key Games is the culmination of years of friendship and creating games between T.K. King and Koltin Thompson. Prior to 2020, T.K. and Koltin had created numerous games ranging from casino style games to heavy board games and enjoyed playing them with friends and family. During the time of quarantine amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, they spent a lot of time revamping many of their game ideas and creating new ones. A particular new game, Delivirus, struck a chord with many of their friends and family and were urged to release it. So, a Kickstarter campaign journey began. Launching on May 1st, the Kickstarter funded rather quickly and exceeded it’s goal, being over 130% funded. With that release, T.K. and Koltin’s desire to purse releasing more of their games rapidly grew and became the foundation of Kinson Key Games.

The Name

Kinson comes from a combination of T.K. and Koltin’s last names. “Kin” from King and “son” from Thompson. With that decided, Kinson Games just didn’t flow like they wanted it to, and they loved the idea of branding with 2 Ks. So after thinking for days/weeks on the name, they finally landed on adding Key to the name. It just sounded right! Plus, they loved the key whole symbol, which would be used for branding purposes as well as it representing a way to open and unlock things, which symbolizes their desire to create new games for people to enjoy.
